Teaching swimming since 2005, starting Water Babies Gloucester 14 years ago and then Swim Stars Claire has spent more time in the water than on dry land. Claire has been a Swim England Educator since 2014 and her passion is for providing high quality swimming lessons, exceptional teachers and the joy of children learning a vital life skill means everything to her. One of Claire’s biggest achievements along with her husband, Steve, they managed to save a pool from being turned into a dance studio for the benefit of the community of Swindon. Vicky has worked with us at Swim Stars on a freelance basis since 2016 and we are now pleased to say she has formally joined the teaching team in 2021. Vicky has over 20 years of teaching experience as a qualified swimming Instructor and swam competitively up to the age of 16 years old, then went into a swimming teaching career…luckily for us! Outside of work, Vicky likes to travel with her husband and the young people she cares for, this includes enjoying holidays here in the UK, abroad and also loves to cruise too! In 2019 Vicky completed her first Marathon Walk, The Thames Path for charity and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the training and completing over 26 miles on the day.
Vicky also supports Level Water Charity, who provide lessons for Children with disabilities. Vicky is dedicated and passionate in providing the best opportunity and experience for all children and young people she teaches and supports. We are so pleased she has joined our team, and can call on her wealth of experience and knowledge, particularly supporting children with additional needs to get the best out of our lessons.
Olivia
Olivia has been a member of the Swim Stars team since she become an assistant teacher in 2019. At that time she was a young competitive swimmer for the Swindon Dolphins where she qualified to swim at national level for Wales her home country for 3 consecutive years. Here she was coached for many years by Dean one of our other teachers who after working along side for the last 3 years has given her inspiration to become a teacher herself.
Olivia also competed with the Tiger Sharks before deciding to focus on her teaching and career in sports science. She is a fully qualified level 2 teacher with lifesaving and safe guarding qualifications and has a passion for teaching children to swim, and loves to see children progress in the pool. She is also currently studying sport science and has gained qualifications as a personal trainer as she loves spending time in the gym.
It has been wonderful to support Olivia from TA to a level 2 Swim Teacher, we are very lucky to have the facilities and amazing team to help develop, encourage and support young talent.
